Welcome

Finally the calendar says that Spring has arrived. This year hopefully we will be greeted with spring like weather. Our springs in the Northeast have been a little bit colder than usual.

Spring means to me: long walks on the beach, planting my garden, as well as my granddaughters baseball games and their dance recitals. I'll need to schedule time for sewing during the week to keep my weekends free for these activities.

This year Easter will fall during April. I've created a fun project for you to sew and give to those who are special in your life. Please encourage others to download this project. Remember all projects are designed by me and may be used for your personal use only. Note: You may notice that in different file formats that the colors look a bit odd. Embroidery software tends to change the colors when the native format is different.

Directions for the machine applique can be found in  the newsletter for March. Feel free to add a personalized message or name if giving this as a gift item.

This month's project is a free Bunny applique which can be sewn using your embroidery sewing machine. Download the zipped file and save in the download folder. Unzip the file and open up the digitized file  in the  format needed for your embroidery software. Add lettering if desired and transfer to your sewing machine. For a printable read out, open up the PDF File Machine Embroidery Applique  (in the left column). I hope you enjoy this month's project. Add the cute bunny to an apron, gift bag, dinner napkins,.

For the Bunny Tail:  Before the machine sews the bunny's puff, change the bobbin thread to a different color. This will help you to recognize the bobbin threads for clipping. After the tail has been sewn clip only the bobbin threads of the tail. To create the fuzzy tail, gently pull on the top threads  on the right side of the tail with tweezers.

I sewed the bunny embroidery onto a cute little gift bag that I've designed. The finished bag measures 5 1/2" wide by 4" tall. This little bag is perfect to give to a child.

If you'd like to purchase just the gift bag pattern in a downloaded format the cost is $4.00 The pattern will be sent to you digitally within 24 to 48 hours. Osnaberg fabric in beige only is also available too. A quarter yard will make 2 bags.
