Christmas Illustration By Debbie Quinn
Christmas Cheer by Debbie Quinn

The holiday season is fast approaching and as always I haven't even begun to shop. I think it's the fear of crowds, long lines, and the prices of everything that keeps me from this endeavor. My children always want money so it makes it easier for me too.

But I still like to sew for my younger grandchildren. The girls make the holidays so much fun and their excitement over opening presents lights up everyones eyes.

My wish for you is that you too will enjoy your holiday season. Remember to take time for yourself too and encourage the entire family to pitch in and help you during this busy season.

Happy Holidays to You!

 Debbie Quinn.

Christmas Gift Card Stotcking

Make these fast and easy gift card holders for the holidays. Download the free stocking embroidery in your sewing machine's format and stitch away. Also download the PDF pattern and instructions. The techniques for applique  can be found on the page "March Newsletter". If you don't own an embroidery sewing machine, use the stocking drawing located on the pattern sheet.

You may also prefer to use your own embroidery for this gift card. The size should not exceed
 3"W x 3 1/4"L.
To create the fringe on the stocking. Finish the embroidery. Clip the bobbin thread of the large satin stitches at the top of the stocking, being careful not to cut the applique or decorative stitches. With a needle pull the top thread out gently to create the fringe.

For the Stocking Gift Card Holder you will need the following:
  • Stabilizer for your embroidery hoop
  • (1) 6 3/4"W x 4 1/2"L  rectangle of main fabric
  •  (1) 6 3/4"W x 5 3/8" rectangle of Contrast Lining Fabric.
  • (1) spool  of matching thread for your project & rayon embroidery thread.
  • 7 " of 1/4" wide satin craft ribbon

Please encourage others visit my web site to download this project too.
